Here is a powerful tool for your midweek: Walking Meditation with Thich Nhat Hanh, a Vietnamese Buddhist monk
Arrive back to your life
It takes practice to live with mindfulness. In this video, Thich Nhat Hanh, describes the act of walking slowly with the thought of returning to the present moment with the words, “I have arrived.” His passion and dedication to this teaching is to actively spread the return to joy.
Here are some of his words to bring joy to your day:
You have to go home to the present moment in order to touch the wonders of life that are refreshing, healing and nourishing.
When we see a person walking with peace and joy, we are motivated to live like that as well.
Our mind has a habit of running. This is a habit. I don’t run anymore. That is an active revolution.
Slow walking:
Take one in-breath. You take one step. You say, “I have arrived.” It should not be a statement but rather a realization. And you know you have truly arrived. Where? In the here and in the now.
You are walking but you have already arrive. Where do you arrive? I arrive in the here and in the now. That is my address. That is the address of my true home.
We should learn how to walk like a free person. Free from the past. Free from the future. Free from our projects. Our anger. Walking in freedom like that can bring a lot of healing, joy and nourishment. I have arrived.
What freedom would you like to live with? What would that require? How would you like to re-begin today?
Namaste,
Laura
