COVID SUPPORT: We Adapt

A human tendency is to adjust to new normals over time. As life keeps changing, humans adapt. I wanted to take a moment and congratulate you on your great ability to adapt in this time of COVID. Everything has changed over the last 8 months and it is important that we celebrate the ways we have grown and shaped our lives to meet the pandemic we are all experiencing. Also, it is just as important to grieve losses. The press reflects the experience of big and little losses that the world has endured. The experiences are deeply felt at every stage of life and in every place on Earth.

“It is not a failure to readjust my sails to fit the waters I find myself in.” ― Mackenzi Lee, The Lady's Guide to Petticoats and Piracy

How are you doing?

We all have needs in this time of COVID. Connection, growth, sharing, fun, rest, movement are just a few that everyone shares. Are you navigating new systems to meet these needs? It is ok to call a friend and ask for help thinking of new ways to find what you need. A friend just told me of zoom cooking with her kids and mother in a Thanksgiving connection. The list was sent, and everyone is making Grandma’s recipe. How about you? What are you doing to connect in an authentic and meaningful way? How are you doing connecting in silly and fun ways?

How are you being?

Spending more time at home leaves more time to meet your inner thoughts. It can be revealing to be in constant relationship with loved ones you used to get a break from. What are you finding out about yourself and others? It can be helpful to jot down what you appreciate about your them. What stands out to you that you like? What resilience are you finding within yourself? Where do you want to grow this holiday season? Turning inward, this is a great season to light some candles and quiet down. Put on your favorites and curbside pick-up what you need for a cozy and snug evening.

Namaste,

Laura
